Castanea Expo, the first Italian chestnut farming fair

From December 12 to 14, 2025, Firenze Fiera will host the first edition of Castanea Expo at the Fortezza da Basso in Florence. This fair is dedicated to the chestnut cultivation sector, focusing on the chestnut tree and its fruits.

This new event will complement the portfolio of direct fairs organized by Firenze Fiera in 2025 and aims to create synergies across all levels of the chestnut production chain, with the shared goal of enhancing and valorizing local territories.

Exhibitors and visitors at this inaugural edition will have access to the full range of chestnut products, from marrons to chestnut flour, as well as beers and cocktails made from chestnuts.

European Chestnut Days 2025

"The challenges of the chestnut sector in an environment of extreme climate change"

Every year, since 2010, Eurocastanea organises an annual meeting, the ‘European Chestnut Days’. The meeting is aimed at organisations, authorities, institutes, local actors, farmers, agronomists, cooperatives and companies from all over the world involved in chestnut production, research, processing, promotion and distribution. In 2025 the meeting ‘XV European Chestnut Days’ will take place in the Natural Park Sierra de Aracena y Picos de Aroche, Huelva, Andalusia, from 10 to 14 September 2025.
